Returns and Refund Policy

Introduction

EC-Council is committed to maintaining an efficient payment, return, and refund processes. Returns and exchanges will be accepted only for Products that meet the applicable return criteria set forth in this Policy, including any product, or program specific return process (including Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requirements). Such requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of purchase or license issuance (as applicable), along with supporting documentation as required for the relevant product type.

This policy applies to all purchases made through EC-Council platforms unless otherwise specified in an applicable agreement or program-specific terms. EC-Council digital products are delivered as-is. Customers are encouraged to review product specifications prior to purchase.

Eligibility Conditions

Digital products, license-based offerings, and bundled items are eligible for return only if they have not been activated, accessed, or redeemed, including where such status is determined solely through EC-Council platforms. For products purchased in a bundle, all bundled components must remain unused and valid; partial returns are not permitted.

All returns of license-based or digital products are subject to system verification by EC-Council to confirm that such products are unused and eligible to be accepted and returned, resulting in a refund or credit.

Refund Eligibility

Circumstance Eligibility for Refund Customer Action Required
Eligible Return or Cancellation Request Refunds may be approved where the Product is eligible for return under this Policy, including where the Product has not been activated, accessed, redeemed, consumed, or otherwise used, and any applicable return requirements (including RMA requirements) have been satisfied. Customer must submit a return or cancellation request within the applicable period specified in this Policy and provide any supporting documentation reasonably requested by EC-Council to verify eligibility.
Order Cancelled by EC-Council or Fulfilment Failure Refunds may be approved where EC-Council cancels an order, is unable to fulfil the ordered Product or Service, or determines that delivery or provisioning cannot be completed. Customer may be required to provide order details and cooperate with EC-Council's investigation or fulfilment review process.
Disputed Transaction (including fraudulent or unauthorized transactions) Refunds or dispute resolutions may be approved upon confirmation from the payment gateway, issuing bank, or EC-Council's internal verification processes, including in cases involving alleged fraudulent transactions or disputes raised after access to a Product or resource has been provided. Customer must file a formal dispute with their bank/card issuer and provide EC-Council with supporting documentation, including any complaint reference, dispute confirmation, FIR/affidavit, or other information reasonably requested to verify the claim.
Duplicate Payment Refunds may be approved for verified duplicate payments for the same order. Provide both transaction references and order details. Refund will be issued for the duplicate order only, based on product consumption and reasonable circumstances.
Product Not Received or Delivered (Tangible Products) Refunds may be approved if EC-Council confirms non-delivery of a tangible product based on tracking information and delivery. This excludes electronic delivery. Customers must notify EC-Council within 7 business days of expected delivery and provide order and tracking details.
Unauthorized Purchase Refunds may be approved after verification with the payment gateway and confirmation that the order was not placed by the account holder. Customer must submit a written statement or dispute confirmation from their procurement authority.

ADDITIONAL TERMS

All returns and exchanges must be accompanied by the original receipt or gift receipt, the original documentation, registration and the original manufacturer packaging, as applicable. Failure to include such items may prevent your refund or exchange.


EC-Council will confirm eligibility and cancellation of applicable products within a reasonable timeframe. Approved refunds or credits may be processed within a commercially reasonable period thereafter, including batch or end-of-cycle processing where applicable. Refunds issued to the original method of payment may be subject to additional processing times imposed by banks, payment gateways, card issuers, or other financial institutions, which are outside EC-Council’s control.


Credits and refunds for approved returns may be issued either to the original method of payment or as store credit, as determined by EC-Council and applicable requirements. When a credit or refund is issued, the amount may exclude any applicable shipping, handling, or administrative return charges.


Where store credit is issued, such credit will be valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, is non-transferable, has no cash value, and may not be exchanged for cash. Unredeemed store credit at the end of the validity period will be handled in accordance with applicable unclaimed property, escheatment, and commercial laws of the relevant jurisdiction.


For physical products, items must be returned in a condition that permits resale. For digital or license-based products, eligibility is subject to product access.


EC-Council reserves the right to reject refund claims that are incomplete, unverifiable, or inconsistent with this policy. Products that have been accessed or otherwise used are not eligible for return.


Repeated or excessive chargeback activity may result in restrictions on future purchases.


In cases where a chargeback is raised without prior communication to EC-Council, EC-Council reserves the right to dispute such chargebacks with the issuing bank, providing necessary proof of service delivery.


Applicable restocking fees, cancellation charges, or administrative fees may apply depending on the product type or program, as communicated at the time of purchase or as determined by EC-Council or specified in the applicable program terms.


Certain products or programs (including Academia products) may require submission of a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) request and compliance with additional program-specific conditions. In such cases, the applicable RMA requirements shall apply in addition to this policy.


Nothing in this policy obligates EC-Council to approve any return, exchange, or refund except in accordance with this policy and applicable program terms.

Exceptions

EC-Council shall not accept the following items for return:

  • Items that have been personalized or customized;
  • Digital or license-based products that have been activated, accessed, or redeemed;
  • Items that have been used, opened, altered or that show wear or damage;
  • Clearance items or those marked with a designation such as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable";
  • EC-Council Exam vouchers are strictly non-refundable.
Note: The above terms and conditions override the refund terms of any payment gateway associated with this store.
